10 MORE Thing you like that I don't.

Apr 04, 2007 22:31

I slipped last year (can you believe it's been that long ago? (If you're new around here go back and comment on the first list. It was one of my most popular posts and ripped over and over on my friends list. I'd love to hear what you have to say abot the original ten as well.) But here I am with our totally-not-annual-in-anyway list of 10 Things ( Read more... )

And btw, Shaun of the Dead was brilliant. But i LOVE zombie films, so maybe I like it more than some because of all the injokes.

In my opinion it takes no talent to pick up on "injokes" and write a few lines around them. But I expect people to disagree with me on these lists...they are called 10 Things you like that I don't. I know you won't be the only one mentioning Shawn of the Dead.

I don't know if you caught all of mine from when you were away, but my complete list is found here.

I think we have several in common.

Awwww...and look @ how you give me love on each one of 'em (except one). Thanks. But you know, if you keep doing this topic so often you could go blind or get hairy palms. Let me jump over there and look them all over.

LOL Not since the mid-late 80's. Why? Should I? I'll have to check it out and see what that even is.

Randomly...

Great list.

Only thing I have to say is that I think prequels aren't too bad. I don't know, I mean...I guess I'm the type of person that like the element of "oh. so THAT's why--"

That, and the Hannibal series was a book trilogy, for the record, before Thomas Harris pulled the prequel thing and decided to give his readers a look into Dr. Lecter's past with the Hannibal Rising thing. I think it's okay to give more insight into a character, you know?

But I couldn't agree more with the Bitch Pack #3.

I know that the three were books first. But Harris wrote both the novel and screenplay for Hannibal Rising @ the same time. So he is culpable for a double prequel offense. And both were slammed by critics as well as reads. So he has taken (what many, not myself) view as an iconic character and compromised it with a fad. It was simply a bad idea.

I'm an only forward kinda gal. If people are interested in a Baby Geniuses prequel staring only sperms they can have my seat and the entire front row all to themselves. At this point I think that most people get why franchise charaters do the things that they do.

Okay, I was looking more at the whole Red-Dragon-Coming-Out-After-SotL thing. I'm sorry I didn't clarify well enough, and looking back at my comment, it was badly organized.

I know about the screenwriting, etc., of Hannibal Rising, and you have a point there. Especially if the reaction was that way. Frankly, I haven't had a chance to read it/see it yet, so I can't state any opinions.

If you like forward only--that I can understand, too.

And then you have to look at hoe Red Dragon was a remake of Manhunter that was shot before SotL. I get what we were both talking about know however. sorry if I came across as a bitch and all. It happens often.

I never saw nor read Hannibal Rising either. I'm honestly not a fan of any of it. I never read the books and hated all but Red Dragon. Edward Norton could sit and read the A-B-Cs however and I'd pay to see it.
