I'm exhausted and I don't even do anything all day long, ugh. I just download gospel songs and scold my cat and make sandwiches and wonder if I could be a back-up singer. Oh and I have daydreams about joining a black church choir like Forrest Gump, that's the most important part!
No, seriously. I have two different versions of This Little Light of Mine (Sam Cooke/Aretha Franklin), three different versions of Swing Low Sweet Chariot (Etta James/The Fighting Temptations feat. Beyonce/The Acappella Company), and four different versions of Softly and Tenderly (Josh Turner/Alan Jackson/Million Dollar Quartet/Robert Sean Leonard). And I had between three and five more versions of each song but I deleted them.
Oh, and I have three versions of Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child (Nana Mouskouri/Billie Holiday/Pete Seeger) and seriously, I hate to say it, but none of them compare to my former voice teacher's version. I have to go upstairs and find that tape of him singing our traditional songs for voice class because he's stunning. He's amazing.
I'm really big on gospel songs. Excuse me while I consider downloading the Sister Act 2 soundtrack....
