for my mom who reads through my web page, here's what i'm talking about:
i imagine getting a phone call that goes something like this:
me: hi mom!
mom: hi misty! i was on your blog... what was that picture of, and what does wtf mean?
me: remember that show yo gabba gabba that i made you watch when you were at my house because it's so f'ed up?
mom: yes. nevermind. so how's the baby?
but seriously though- jack black + yo gabba gabba = win. that episode had me rolling. and while i don't particularly let alex watch tv per se, we've put a couple things on to see what he thinks. he thinks quite highly of this show -- he dances to it. get the sillies out is a personal favorite (but mostly because he has toys that sing it, oy).
last weekend was busy but sooo awwwesome. i hadn't realized how much i missed just being outside when it's nice out. the arizona folks may have something there... so my mom's group (i know i am a joiner, sue me) had a
birthday party for the march/april babies -- it was a lot of fun, and the kids had a great time it seemed playing in the park. alex had his first swing ride both with dad and solo, and seemed to like both for the minimum amount of time. we also took the wagon and went to the flower and garden show in leesburg -- the day was just so nice, it was all we could do to pack as much outdoor stuff into it.
sunday wasn't quite a good, but we still managed to get some stuff done. install the long overdue more permanent baby gate, or at least the one we go to make sure we liked it (chris still isn't sure, but i like it). we ended up finally buying a new dishwasher - it'll be nice to have a) dishes that come all the way clean again, and b) a nice new one with lots of room and a way quieter wash cycle (i think like 45dbs, which is insanely low). it's also very energy efficient, which little miss recycle over here enjoys as well.
chris and i had a lot of good talks over the past week, and it's really been wonderful. coming out of the winter doldrums is always hard, and i find that we both shut down and misunderstand each other a lot during this time of the year. i love him more every day, even 6 years later. i perpetually thank the stars that i have him in my life.
i posted a bunch of other pictures too:
*
first easter (easter last year was the week before he was born, in mid-march)
