there and back again
we went to memphis for christmas this year. it was a nice visit, even though it's always difficult not to spend the holidays with my family. old habits are hard to change, but it's nice to experience christmas with my new extended family as well.
alex now owns half of the stock of toys r us, and as i prepare to clean the house today it currently looks like a toysplosion. i've already started to portion out toys to different parts of the house. good lord.
i also got spoiled, receiving a replacement for my aging desktop/laptop and getting a macbook pro. it's my very first brand new laptop - any other i'd had was always a hand me down. it's shiny and new, and i'm still in awe that it's all mine. i'm renaming all of my devices based on constellations (surprise) so this will be orion. i may even decommission my desktop and give it to chris - there's really no need for two separate computers when this one is so awesome.
the house is a mess. not like a somewhat sort of mess, but like the kind i never wanted - things piled on things, no clean surfaces, things queued to be put away. i don't live like this, and i don't want to. with the holidays our tenuous hold on a semi-straight house went out the window. i'm off today and thursday, and my goal is to change that.
first stop - diaper laundry. :P
oh - we also got pictures taken over the holiday - they're not up yet, but i will post them asap. i must say they turned out cute. :)
