home again, home again, jiggity jig
so the friday departure we were originally given didn't quite pan out. or the saturday one. our glorious homecoming came on monday afternoon, 2 weeks after we were admitted to loudoun. to say the three of us were sick of the hospital was an understatement. fairfax, while a better facility from a surgery/quality of surgeon/specialist standpoint, downright sucks for comfort. the nurses are overworked and not as attentive or available, the rooms are small and the ceilings are low. we came home with a cath for him, but it's temporary. And MUCH better than remaining in the hospital.
Hopefully our next visit for his third surgery will be much shorter and less trying. for the moment however, he's sleeping on my chest, and all is well. my marbles are slowly returning to their rightful places.
coming home was lovely. i slept a long ass time, comparatively. and not sleeping on a surface that has an incline? AWESOME.
