the quick and dirty
1 - started new job yesterday, marking a milestone in my life: I AM NO LONGER AN ADMIN :) it took a while for that to hit me. maybe because it still is a lateral move and i'm not making a buncha more money (altho there is a slight increase), but saying goodbye to travel and scheduling, logistics planning and drafting correspondence on someone else's behalf feels fantastic. i hit the ceiling in my last position, and have been congratulated by just about everyone i know on being selected to work with an amazing team and learn new skills, absolutely distinct from my old position. i feel smarter already ;)
2 - halloween costume: the freduian slip :)
3 - partied way too hard last weekend. feeling a little sick. i think "back to health" is right around the corner...
4 - car is almost paid off. woohoo!
5 - going to the marin headlands insititute tomorrow for a retreat. first time anything like this has been put together in the two years i've worked here.
6 - adam will now be gone through january. i miss him, and the temperance he provided as a third roommate, dearly.
7 - grad school fair was good. i stopped by all the ones i'm likely to apply for. i still like the program at UCSD the best :)
time to go home and watch scary movies, eat yummy curry and enjoy the adorable little trick-or-treaters. yay.
