Feeling very out of place at the moment. In a class of around 30 people, only one other had been to a community college at some point. To put that in perspective, 40%-50% of adults have been to community college at some point. They're worried about building citizen ship, while I'm worried about teaching people to read and write (about 1/4 of high school students cannot comprehend the material in their textbooks. 1 in 7 kids from a low income background become proficient readers by the time they leave high school).
