Daniel wasn't sure how he ended up in the hotel. Last thing he remembered was being in his office late at night, pouring over the book of Origin for the hundredth time. If he knew the enemy, he'd be prepared. It had been late when he'd finally stopped reading the same passages over and over, looking for symbols that were most important. By the time he realized he was tired, it was nearly morning. Daniel had stumbled out of his office, heading to his quarters. He made it out the door and-
"...Not good. Definitely not good."
How he had ended up in the lobby of a hotel, Daniel wasn't sure, but he knew it wasn't the SGC. He turned to the woman behind a desk. She was smiling, which actually made him more nervous than he was already. He caught the name, which only made both eyebrows raise and his mouth pause in a small circle as he processed the information.
"I'm sorry. I think there's been some sort of mistake. I don't think I'm meant to be here."
"There is no mistake at all, Dr. Jackson. You are one of the newest citizens of El Dorado." the Receptionist said. "We have you listed for a room and a communication device ready for you as well. We've been expecting you for some time now."
Daniel approached the desk, curious since she seemed to know him immediately. He rested both hands at the edge of her desk and leaned over just slightly.
"A room?" His head tilted just slightly, "Where?" Even if this was all a mistake (or worse, some Ori plot to lull him into a false sense of security), he might as well check it out and see what all it had to offer.
After a few moments of moving papers, she looked back at him with the same smile. "Room 123. Your room is here on the first floor past the doors at the end of the hall." She gave a gesture and then handed him the key and the golden cell phone.
Connor had expected just about anything when he stepped through the anomaly, but ending up in a hotel? Not at the top of the list. Actually, not on the list at all. He turned around, but the anomaly was gone.
"I'm dead." He slapped a hand to his forehead, dragging it down over his face as he tried to assess the situation. Suddenly, a woman's voice made him turn. "El Dorado?" He parroted back to her, "Are you serious? Of course you are." He started to pace the lobby floor.
The Receptionist watched Connor pace. He had already answered his own question. "We have a room prepared for you, Mr. Temple. As well as a communication device."
Connor stopped mid-pace and turned slowly to face her again. The corners of his mouth turned up just slightly.
"A room?" He slowly approached the desk and gave the place a good look around. "How much?" He was distinctly aware of his lack of money. He might have a few pounds stashed away in his wallet, but not enough to pay for a place like this.
A smile perked on her face at the question. "They are completely free, as is everything in the city. The Gods provide everything you might need while you stay in the city under their graces."
She then placed the cell phone and key in front of him. "Room 102. Your room is past the doors at the end of the hall."
The Doctor was used to finding himself in new and strange places. Not knowing the locals, throwing himself head first into things. What was different about this turn of events was one simple thing: no TARDIS. No matter where the Doctor turned, he couldn't find the TARDIS. He couldn't even feel the TARDIS through the link they shared.
That was the most disturbing bit of it. He could always locate the TARDIS... but not this time. It was only an after thought that Rose and Jack weren't with him. The need to find the TARDIS override that. As much as he cared about his companions? Holding onto the one piece of Gallifrey left in the universe was much more important.
He quickly made his way over to the Receptionist desk. "'Allo, I'm the Doctor. Just the Doctor. I seem to be missing a personal item. It's a phone box. Big, blue, bigger on the inside. It's very important I find it as soon as possible."
Abby had been wandering the lobby for a few minutes, trying to figure out how she had walked out of the NCIS elevator and into this place - especially since there didn't seem to be any way to get back. She was walking around a particularly large potted plant when she heard a man raise a question about a box.
"I see to have lost a whole building. If you find mine first, shout, okay?" She had a nervous look about her. Abby didn't know what to make of this place, and the more she tried to make sense of it, the more it didn't make sense, which only made her freak out just a little bit more.
The Doctor turned to her from the smiling Receptionist. He noticed that there were a ton of more people wandering around the lobby now. When had they all shown up? They looked just as confused and baffled as he did. Not a good sign in his book. Which just made it all the more exciting.
"Now how do you go and lose a building? A cellphone, sure. Maybe even a little yippie dog. But a building? Rather hard to misplace those."
"Same way you lose a big blue box, I guess." Abby shrugged and hugged herself briefly before looking at the room key and phone she had been given at the desk. "Not that I don't mind hospitality, but this is all really hinky." She glanced at the receptionist out of the corner of her eye.
"I walked out of an elevator at work and ended up. Here." She spread her arms out and let them drop dramatically. "Like I said. Hinky."
Vala was often very certain about her life, despite the chaotic and dystopian lifestyle she lead. On a daily basis, she could get into trouble, talk or charm her way out of punishment and get back into a mess before noon. It was a gift, really. Her knack for trouble was something that had made her life interesting for many years. But today was the first time in a very long time that Vala wasn't quite so sure what had happened... or where she was... or what was going on. And she did not like it.
The last thing Vala remembered before she opened her eyes was that the cloaked Jaffa ship she had used to demolish the Supergate was blaring a thousand klaxons warning her of a system power overload of some sort. With enough motivation to save her skin, Vala had managed to "ring" out of the ship seconds before implosion. Her destination had been aboard the Prometheus but... that was not where she was at all

"Oh..." she murmured with a short pause afterward. She let the information sink into her pretty little head before leaning forward over the desk a little bit to lower her voice. "City of the Gods, hmm?" Another pause as her trigger happy fingers avoided touching the gold-plated enameling on the desk itself. "Are these Gods... are they rich Gods, perchance?"
"Money has no value here in the City of El Dorado. Everything is provided for you by the Gods. If you would like to believe they are rich based off these facts? You are more than welcome to." She answered.
Bruce was starting to see a pattern. Every time he wanted nothing more than to hole up away from the world, to dig his way to the deepest part of the shadows and accept death or comfort -- whatever came first, really -- that would be when he was dragged back into the light.
And sometimes, it was harsh. Sometimes it meant a great deal of time in the mountains, making friends that would later not only try to kill him, but decimate an entire city.
Sometimes, however, it was a hotel lobby.
Actually, a pretty nice hotel lobby.
His guard was up within seconds, though the rest of him was exhausted and briefly considered letting it back down again. The Clown was locked up, and if whoever had pulled this off managed to bring him here within what'd felt like seconds with no side effects what so ever, maybe they deserved to have him. Maybe he deserved to go down

Bruce was having a hard time sounding sweet at the moment. "The appropriate room?" One that he was supposed to go to, instead of getting these people the hell out of here and finding out whoever had orchestrated this so he could take them to the police?
Maybe the Joker was around here somewhere. "Where is this really?"
"Yes, Mr. Wayne, of course. As the head of Wayne Enterprises, it was only natural to assign you to one of the Mansion's most luxurious rooms." the Receptionist explained. "As I have said. You are in El Dorado, the City of the Gods. More known for it being made of gold."
