Well, this was weird.

Connor had expected just about anything when he stepped through the anomaly, but ending up in a hotel? Not at the top of the list. Actually, not on the list at all. He turned around, but the anomaly was gone.

"I'm dead." He slapped a hand to his forehead, dragging it down over his face as he tried to assess the situation. Suddenly, a woman's voice made him turn. "El Dorado?" He parroted back to her, "Are you serious? Of course you are." He started to pace the lobby floor.

The Receptionist watched Connor pace. He had already answered his own question. "We have a room prepared for you, Mr. Temple. As well as a communication device."

Connor stopped mid-pace and turned slowly to face her again. The corners of his mouth turned up just slightly.

"A room?" He slowly approached the desk and gave the place a good look around. "How much?" He was distinctly aware of his lack of money. He might have a few pounds stashed away in his wallet, but not enough to pay for a place like this.

A smile perked on her face at the question. "They are completely free, as is everything in the city. The Gods provide everything you might need while you stay in the city under their graces."

She then placed the cell phone and key in front of him. "Room 102. Your room is past the doors at the end of the hall."

Vala wove through the growing crowd of people. It seemed that each time she looked over her shoulder, another two or three people had arrived on the hotel lobby's doorstep. So many new faces, so many new people to get to know. But what she wanted to know first, was who her mystery roommate was.

Accidentally bumping into Connor's back after being pushed from behind, Vala figured this was as good a place to start as any. "Hi, name's Vala. Have your room key handy?" she asked quite bluntly. Without waiting for a response she glanced down to check the number on his key. Hrm, not what she was looking for. "Well, nice to meet you neighbor!" With that, she was gone, swallowed by the crowd.

Connor blinked several times as the random (yet fairly attractive) woman came up and snatched his room key to give it a once over. "Hey!" he said, mostly out of surprise. She was gone almost as quick as she had appeared. Lost and a little confused, Connor just watched her head off, mumbling to himself about manners.
