Snow!

This is not exactly a profound revelation, but the recent snowstorm has made a hash of my life. A foot and a half of snow will mess up any city. Plus I have two cars right now. My new one, and my old one, which I would tow away and scrap yesterday if it weren't for the new tires it has. New tires on a junk car. That's a seriously painful expense, so I'm trying to retain those or sell them separately from the scrapping. I've had to do a lot of juggling to avoid ticketing and towing due to the snow removal emergency. And I still need to keep juggling, as Minneapolis declared a second snow emergency, because things were such a mess the first time around they need another emergency to plow the streets properly.

Fortunately, the old car has been operational, at least at creep-through-super-crappy-streets speeds. So I've been able to move it from side street to side street okay. But there was one really hairy moment where I almost slid through a stop sign into a Metro Mobility bus. Yeah, a car accident with a bus full of the wheelchair-bound. That would have done wonders for my insurance rates and mental health.

Snow, snow, snow. I haven't been able to do anything for days that hasn't involved snow. Digging out the cars took most of my time. I still haven't shoveled the sidewalk beyond a courtesy path, and I need to clear out my garbage pickup area. There isn't really anyplace left I can throw the snow, the snowbanks are too high. I'll have to wade into the middle of my yard and dump the snow there. I'm wiped out just thinking about it.

The positive side of all this is that it's taken my mind off of some other crap that's been bugging me. I kind of want to write about it, but I'm having a hard time articulating it. Isolation stuff. I'm having a hard time relating to people about pretty much everything. It's all really fuzzy. But hey, there's snow to deal with, so I don't have to dwell on that now.

I did manage to get out and see the Rockstar Storytellers show on Sunday night. I needed that. Before the snows, I also saw Bill Corbett's Super Powered Revenge Christmas #1, which needs to be seen by everyone reading this. And the first Improv-A-Go-Go at the new HUGE Theater space, which I was overjoyed to do. I hope to get some more HUGE in before the years ends, but, y'know... snow.

I figure I have a week to get rid of the car and minimize the loss on the tires. Plus holiday preparations. And a couple of other shows I want to catch. And the snow. That's going to be tough to arrange.
