The Questions Ten

1. What was the biggest fight of your life about? Well, the most emotional fight of my life was when an ex-girlfriend dumped me, and then started bragging about how great her new boyfriend/soon to be husband was right in front of me. In explicit detail. This was like maybe a week after we broke up, after being together for about five years. She genuinely didn't see why I'd have a problem with that.

The most significant fight... I'm not sure. Maybe something with my parents, during my teenage years, about who I was chosing for friends. It wasn't especially traumatic. I think I won that one.

2. What did your grandparents teach you? Card games. We played card games a lot. Grandpa also taught me not to bother him when the Cubs were on TV. He was not exactly the loveable sort. Those were my maternal grandparents. I don't remember doing anything with my paternal grandparents except sitting in their living room while my parents talked to them about whatever.

I guess I wasn't that close to my grandparents. I didn't dislike them, I just wasn't close.

3. Have you ever bought someone a drink to show romantic interest? No, not until we were already involved. It feels too cliched. Also, a couple of my girlfriends didn't drink, so that wasn't really an avenue of introduction.

4. What would the theme of your casino be? Late '50s to early '60s jet age retro. Old school Vegas, baby.

5. Do you eat your food all at once or first you eat all of one thing, then you eat all of the next thing; or by some other method? I rotate. I might eat all of one thing first, if that one thing was exceptionally good.

6. What was your first car like? It was a 1980 Chevy Malibu, one of those gigantic gas-guzzling boats from the peak era of Detroit cluelessness. It got around 10-12 MPG. I had a stereo put in, which was promptly stolen. So for most of the time I had it, it had no radio.

7. What was your first bike like? I think it was a Huffy. One of those '70s jobs with the ape hangers and a sissy bar. It also had one of those orange safety flags that you stuck on the back. I was enough of a dork to think that was cool. And it had a denim banana seat. That was really annoying when it rained.

8. If you were on a celebrity game show, what charity would you play for? I have a hard time deciding which cause is better than the others. Probably some sort of First Amendment rights, freedom of speech organization. Maybe the ACLU.

9. Would you rather go into space or explore the deep ocean? Space! I grew up on Star Trek and the Apollo missions. This is a no brainer. (Although the Jacques Cousteau documentaries were always fun.)

10. What question would you ask as question #10? I don't know. I'll throw this open to the audience. Ask me something!
