Deflatermaus
Somehow got my work backlog down to a manageable level, at least until I get about eighteen pounds of crap in the mail again. Which is inevitable, but hopefully not very near future inevitable. I left work at the time I'm supposed to leave work, and it felt really weird. Anyway, last week's stress bubble has deflated, and I'm very okay with that.
Team America, the team I was on for the MISFITs Scavenger Hunt, wound up winning the event. Even though we misread a key item on the list as a "picture okay" item, rather than as an "in house" item. And I forgot about several items in my possession that would've totally qualified, like art pencils and a framed poster for The Maltese Falcon. (The poster was particularly galling, it's so darn huge and right smack in the middle of my computer room.) We also forgot a couple stupidly simple items, like an LP record. But no matter. We won. Team America, fuck yeah!
A friend of mine from my Brainco days is turning forty, and is having a happy hour get-together tomorrow. The only thing making me hesitate is that it's downtown. The last time I was downtown I realized I've lost a lot of tolerance for downtown. But I'll probably still go. I need to connect and reconnect with people who aren't in my immediate orbit.
