A Lull
Unscheduled break, as my supervisors scramble for stuff for me to do. It happens. Sometimes there's a lull in leads, when someone has a meeting or an appointment or something. But this is getting a tad long, over a half hour now. It's making me nervous. But I'm not getting lectured about keeping busy or other invented concerns, which is refreshing.
It was kind of a comedy of errors getting out of the house this morning. I used too much hand lotion, so I was dropping stuff that shouldn't be dropped and leaving greasy trails all over. Then while locking the back door I lost my balance and fell off the back steps, face first into the snow. Ice was not involved, this was strictly me being a klutz.
Enjoying the new old TV. So far, I've used it to watch Big Trouble In Little China and Coffy, and a few episodes of Cheers on Channel 45. I keep thinking there's something wrong with the sound, and then I realize nothing is wrong with the sound, it's just not bad sound anymore. But one annoyance is that it has a built-in DVD player, which is broken. The drawer spontaneously opens and closes at random times, usually staying open. I wonder if I can duct tape it shut? Ooh! Maybe I can use it as a cup holder, just like the old help desk joke!
