Religious Pretense turned out to be a pretty fun show. Not the hugest audience in the world, but they were into it. The improv took a weird turn when it was discovered the man on trial was actually Batman. They also seemed to dig After The Party and the big all-cast improv jam at the end, which I didn't know was part of the show until I showed up that evening. I was still in my dressed-up bow tie ensemble from After The Party, which might explain why I kept winding up as senators and accountants and the like. But I'm still kicking myself about not entering the boxing scene as a referee. I was perfectly dressed for it.

It was an interesting show in that I played angrier, more high status characters than I normally do. Was my age a factor? Was it the suit? Am I just less insecure? I don't know, but it was nice to be able to that. I could almost never pull that type of character off in the Impossibles because of the general performance aggression level of the group. This competitive force would erupt, and it kind of stopped being comedy improv and became almost a grand guignol thing. Well, that's how I remember it anyway.

There was the usual drinking and laughing at the Green Mill afterwards. Heard an odd story about viagra-fed mussels becoming a big success in the Japanese food market. Shellfish that give you boners! And I became fascinated with what a Bizarro Algonquin Round Table would be like. Dorothy Parker would be super complimentary and Robert Benchley would crack great fart jokes.

I forget if something's going on tonight. I am planning on catching Ocean's 13 sometime this weekend, most likely by myself. I'm the only person I know who was massively nuts about Ocean's 11, and who still found a decent level of entertainment in Ocean's 12, and who has expressed any interest in seeing Ocean's 13, so there you go.
