Lessons Learned

So I'm more than a year removed from college and as I think back on how it has been, I realize that I have learned a lot about life during this period in my life. Some of the lessons that I have learned since graduating are...

.Finding a full-time job IS a full-time job!
.Getting a Master’s Degree doesn’t assure you a full time job; many times it just makes it harder to find one.
.MANY times it’s about WHO you know, not what you know.
.In order to get to the top, you need to “kiss a lot of ass”!!! And when I use this expression I’m not just using it figuratively, I mean there are really a lot of “asses” as in “jackasses” at the top!
.Meeting new friends isn’t as easy as it used to be…Let’s rephrase that: Meeting new friends is hard as fuck!!!
.Keeping in touch with old friends…NOT EASY!!!
.Lunch with a special friend doesn’t come around as often as it used to.
.Dinner with a special friend doesn’t come around as often as it used to.
.Drinks with a special friend doesn’t come around as often as it used to.
.3 Long Island Ice Teas are enough to put you over the edge.
.Taxi drivers aren’t as nice to drunk people as they are to sober people.
.Waking up with a hangover sucks! Finding bruises which you don’t know how they got there, sucks even more!!
.Older woman love me! And when I say older I mean 40+ year olds!!!
.Younger woman think I’m “nice” or consider me a “brother”. I have like 6 sisters already, and the family keeps growing!
.Woman would do pretty much anything for beads, even if it means pulling out your boob and licking it in front of about 10 people.
.Sometimes getting wasted can be a stress reliever!
.Running a marathon is not as difficult as I thought.
.Running the last 6 miles of a marathon is a whole lot harder than I thought.
.I can pretty much do anything I set my mind to.
.When you really want something, 95% depends on you, the other 5% is out of your control.
.Surprises aren’t always a good thing.
.When you are trying to get over someone, their name seems to pop up everywhere…at work, on tv, on the radio, in ads, etc., etc., etc.
.Sometimes you have to take a step back in order to take two steps forward.
.Some people will always be with you no matter how far they are.
.Betting on horses is exciting! Betting on a winning horse is even more exciting, even if you only win $1.
.There is nothing more exciting than college basketball.
.When you’re a big sports fan, games played by your alma mater will always mean a lot.
.The best don’t always win.
.There are a lot of good restaurants in Los Angeles.
.LA, although a nice city, is not quite what it’s all hyped up to be.
.When you’ve spend a lot of time with one person it gets to a point where almost every place, almost every song, almost every TV show reminds you about a time when you guys…
.No matter what the future holds, the past is something that can never be changed.
.Home is always a good place to get away from it all.
.The best friends you can ever have are family.
.Depending on others to help you with something can be a pain.
.Something that is on the top of your priority list may be on the bottom of someone else’s priority list so sometimes you have to find a way to make it to the top of their priority list, even if it means nagging them about it every day.
.Never lend your favorite CD’s cause you may never get them back!
.Word gets around…especially at work!
.You should never pass up the opportunity at a free meal.
.Some people talk too much! I mean do they realize that many times we really don’t want to know about their personal lives and how they aren’t getting any from their spouses? COME ON!!! WAY TOO MUCH INFO!!!
