I get lots of attention from pets when I go running.
Cats keep one eye on me. (The other one, of course, is closed so they can continue to nap.) There's sometimes a particularly gorgeous, fluffy, white one in the window of a house I pass by who watches me between meticulous cleanings.
Some people have chickens in their backyard. Sometimes they get out and cross the road. Dunno why, or where they're going...
Dogs, on the other hand... from the big woofers to the yip-yaps, I get told. Sometimes I can coo at them - "Who's a good boy, den? Good morning, you good good doggie you!" - and quiet them. But even then, my run is a cacophony of "GTFO".
The other day, I heard a new one.
"QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK..."
I look over in a backyard and there it was - a duck, waddling towards the fence, doing his best impression of a dog.
Yes, I got told off by a watch-duck. My neighbors...
