It just takes a few things planned but not done to derail a whole weekend, you know it?
I was going to get new tennis shoes and a haircut. Didn't.
Even though I got laundry done for the first time in a long time (had some unwashed loads here and there for weeks) and got the Christmas tree down (hush!) and the front room halfway respectably clean and hung out with Mickie at the science museum, I still feel like I wasted 48 hours.
It's okay, though, because I have a feeling I'll have plenty of time to go get that haircut and pair of shoes after work today. I'm in no hurry to get out the door for bus run, because school is out. (That brings mixed feelings, as you may imagine. I won't be able to get away from work to go to my own classes, and the back room will give new meaning to the word "rowdy".)
In other news, the teams for the Super Bowl have been decided, and I'm, as usual, rooting for the underdogs. Right now, it looks like I'm an Arizona fan. Go Cardinals. And bring on the commercials! Nothing is more American than a brutal sports game interrupted at semi-even intervals with rampant consumerism.
And I'm wondering if I'll be able to catch a glimpse of The Inauguration tomorrow. It's my Tough Day (stats and accounting part deux), so I can't skip out on any classes. Perhaps my profs will let us out early-ish. (Dunno. My stats prof seems rather Republican...)
I've rambled on long enough. Happy Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Last Day of the Bush Administration!
