Don't know if any of you have heard of
meglimir, but in brief:
Wife, mom, witty, funny, sweet, cancer fighter, strong woman. Kind of a role model/hero for me as far as her looking into the face of Death, smirking, and saying "Ain't done yet, Bones. Take a number."
It seems that
Death's number is coming up. The cancer has finally gotten more aggressive than the treatments.
Sad as I am, I'm even more upset for her family. I can't even imagine watching somebody slip away. My dad is hanging in there, staying stable, so I don't know that I can sympathize. All I can do is offer long-distance support and hope they're as tough and strong as she has been. Surely that family has that much in common.
I've never been so affected by somebody I know online. This is her legacy. She is loved. And she will be remembered.
Cancer sucks so hard.
Gonna go cry now and get it out of my system.
ETA: There's a "Bear Share" going on
at Callahanians - if you're looking for something to donate to for the holidays, grab a teddy bear or three and take them to a Children's Hospital in her name/honor. Like I said, her legacy is love.
