Saturday already? Vacation's almost over?!? NOOOOO!!!!! ... *ahem*
Mom did us some favors on vacation - deposited my stimulus check (it came in last Saturday, after the banks had closed), took care of Mickie's fish, got our mail and newspaper, got along with the cat.
In return, we got her some Texas-strength Budweiser, a shot glass from Six Flags (she collects shot glasses, but only uses them when she really has to), and agreed to take Buddy to the groomers for a summer haircut (here in about thirty minutes). Tit for tat. (Cue Andy saying "What's 'tat', and where can I get me some?")
Mom's birthday is coming up, and I've been racking my brain to figure out a decent gift. She needs a new TV, and I was thinking about scratching up some sass money for a decent one, but... have you seen TV prices lately?
So last night, Andy suggests a small aquarium of fish, similar to what Mickie has. Mom rather enjoyed watching her fish, and they seemed to thrive under her care. Plus, Buddy left them alone.
So. Might give Mom a tank full of small mouths to feed for her birthday. Unless we come up with something better. And of course, as per tradition, I'll buy her a bottle of wine.

According to the scale, I gained three pounds this past week.
But never fear... right after I stepped off the scale, Aunt Flo arrived with a saucy "you're welcome" for holding off until I got home from my travels. Um, thanks, but you're early, hun. I know, better that than late, but you caught me unprepared, dammit.
I'll measure myself if I think about it, just to reassure myself that a foot-long corn dog didn't undo my hard work...

We still need to unpack all the way. Hey, it's still vacation time.
I also need to do laundry in the worst way possible. I'm out of clean shorts.
Also: groceries. We have enough for cheese sandwiches and cold cereal, maybe a pot of spaghetti. No variety makes Elbie a Sad Panda. (Although, we've made a pact to start shopping at the Braums Market. Last night we picked up some veggies with our Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake ice cream - YOM - for really decent prices. And a look at their steak prices sealed the deal.)
