Yeah, I really need a new mat for under my computer chair. My old one is cracked in a couple places and the edges stick up in spots. Saturday I tried to kick one of Taya's balls out of my way and I must've kicked just a little too low and my foot went under the edge of the mat. It's one of those mats with all the spikey things on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on the carpet. Well, let me tell you, those spikey things will take out a decent chunk of flesh given half a chance!

Lot's of cussing, two bandaids, and a near fainting spell later . . . good thing I have a child who knows where the bandaids are, as I didn't think it was a good time for me to be trying to stand up . . . I was hobbling around the house swearing that I would go out the very next day and buy a new mat. One WITHOUT spikey things! Of course, we didn't get around to it.

Fast-forward three days later. Taya comes running up to me as I'm sitting in my computer chair. Bare little foot catches the sticking up edge of the mat and she faceplants into my lap. Luckily the spikey things were apparently not out for blood that day. Just a little scrape. Though to hear Taya (and I'm sure the Verizon Tech Support guy on the phone could), you'd have thought the thing had eaten three toes. But, one Dora bandaid after that all was well.

So. Yeah. This weekend my primary project is to find a new mat. Chris said he has a $25 off card for Staples, so if he can ever remember to bring that home I guess I'll be going there.

Training is going the same as usual. This time our trainer is out for a "short" meeting. She set us a little project to work on and hoped she would be back quickly. That was 45 minutes ago. We are all done with the project and kinda arguing back and forth about who did it right, as we have come up with two different results . . . I'm pretty sure I'm right! I have managed to sway a couple of the others over to my way of thinking. Of course, I'm going to be really embarrassed if it turns out they were right and I was wrong!

We are considering going to see Kevin Smith in either Chicago or Ann Arbor. It depends on if I can get the time off. The tickets are kinda pricey, but I really want to go! I don't have any questions to ask him, but that's OK since I would probably totally freeze if I tried to do it, anyway.

Rapidly approaching the hour mark and still no sign of our trainer! Really wish I could get on Facebook here. *sigh* Maybe I'll go peruse the Staples website and see what they have for chair mats and what kind of outrageous prices they want for the good ones.
