Chemo (or whatever they call it...technically, Herceptin is not "chemo," per se, but to my mind, since it involves much the same process, that is that I go is, sit in a chair, get speared and get IV drugs, it all amounts to pretty much the same thing to my non-medical mind, but I digress...) went very well last night. Blood work, on the other hand... Well, I was spared the nonsense of last time with the Infamous ID Check, but yes, they still had to stick me in the arm to draw the blood because apparently, only an RN can do a blood draw from a port. [And lo, there came the sound of much swearing.]

But it went well. The chemo centre was uncrowded (yay!), and I got my chair in the corner, away from everyone else, and our nurse was an absolute sweetie - from New Orleans, as it happens. The people who work at the chemo centre are among some of the nicest folks I've ever met at Kaiser, which makes sense, really. When a patient has to deal with something life-threatening, the last thing in the world they need to deal with is Sally Sourpuss or Dirk Dismal.

Supper last night was Mexican (Carmelita's). Neil works half of today. He then comes home, and we immediately head over to Costco for cat litter. We'll be having lunch at Costco, too. (Best hot dogs in town - a buck-fifty gets you a large hot dog AND a refillable drink, AND they're kosher hot dogs, so they're very high quality, too. They also have great deals on pizza slices.) After that, we get rations for our trip from The Citadel of Evil (aka Wal-Mart). Costco has better cold-cuts, but Wal-Mart carries the kind in those reusable, resealable plastic cartons, which are better for travel. And after that? Home for chores, supper and early lights-out so we can get up and head south tomorrow.

We've watched more of the fourth season of Enterprise. It's been fantastic. We can't imagine why it was cancelled, but oh well. The next episode we'll watch will be "In a Mirror Darkly," which promises to be very good, if dark.

I guess that's all for the moment. Take care, all.
