I just realised I hadn't said anything about this trip. So now I will.
Driving to Flesland, the flight and the train from Gatwick went fine. Hotel? Not so much. According to the receptionist - who was apparently on glue or smth - our reservation was cancelled, and we ended up in a cold room through a maze of stairs and corridors. Well, whatever. Bedlinen and bathroom was clean, so it was ok.
Friday: Shopping, a fabulous lunch, Christmas decorations on Oxford Street, a bath and then just relaxing at our not so fabulous hotel room. Well, whatever. I had salt&vinegar crisps and M&S DietCoke. It was all good.
Saturday:
One lovely girl, Covent Garden Christmas market, then theatre and King Lear. Second row seats, man. Second row! I swear to god, if one of those guys with a sword had stumbled, I would have lost an eye. But it still would have been worth it.
I fell in love a little with the guy playing Edmund (omg HOT).
And then there was Sir Ian McKellen.
He really belongs playing a character like that. I don't know what else to say. I wasn't really aware of the nudity until Li mentioned it as we went inside, but that doesn't mean I wasn't... let's just say it as it is, impressed like whoa. Hugely impressed. Ahem.
I really enjoyed the play, nudity or no. 3 hours flew by, and the wait at the stage door was worth it, getting our programs signed.
As soon as we got in to the elevator of DOOM I'd forgotten what room the receptionist had said and I sent a txt to find out. I didn't need to get a txt back, because when we got out of the elevator I could hear them:
Two lovely girls. Lots of huggage and laughing, Christmas presents, dinner and getting drunk, scaring the children and thumb spazzing, lots of more laughing, then more huggage - and sadly, goodbyes.
Sunday: Checking out way too early (around 08.15), then various modes of transportation until we were back home at midnight-ish.
Those girls are made of win. I honestly don't know how it was possible to have so much fun in such a short time, and I'm already dreaming of going back. Which I will. As soon as I've saved up some money. :D
