2007. From a guppy memory point of view.

Jan 01, 2008 21:27

1. What did you do in 2007 that you've never done before?
Go to London. Twice. Meet people I've only talked to on line or by txts.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I always disappointed myself with those, so I stopped making them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes. BFF. A precious baby boy. Yay. :):):)

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. And thank whatever gods may be for that.

5. What countries did you visit?
England.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Um, willpower?

7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
My two London trips. Yes, I go on and on, but omg. Fabulous.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I'll have to think about that.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I'll have to think about that, too.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Was sick a few times, yes.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
London tickets of various kinds - flights, hotel bookings, theatre tickets - and through those time with some wonderful people and lots of fun.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Mine. I was a good girl, with lots of spine. Well, maybe not lots. But it was there, there was some spine.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Mine. I could have done so much better.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Where do they usually go? I mean.. House, food, other bills, clothes, clothes, clothes.. New laptop. See also #11.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
London, again.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Hopeless question. I have guppy memory, and besides there would probably be more than one.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a)happier or sadder? - hopeless question again. I'm neither.

b) thinner or fatter? - Why, WHY does anyone feel the need to measure a year like that?

c) richer or poorer? - Argh. No, really. I've spent lots of money, yes. But has it made me poorer? No. I've gotten so much out of that money.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spent more time in London. Yes, I go on about it, but even if I've had so much fun, I wish I'd had better time for various things. And I know, I should have said "time with my family" or "exercised" or "aided the poor" or whatever. But right now that's how I feel, so shut up. :D

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Get annoyed at work. I love my job, but sometimes the crap surrounding it takes a bit too much energy.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I have spent it with my family. Again, thank whatever gods may be.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Nope. I wish I had. I miss it.

23. How many one-night stands?
Ahar. Ha ha ha. See #12. I'm glad this number is very low, actually, because if it was higher, I know who ... Well. Let us just not go there.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
TopGear. OMG, I'm lost in the Hamster!love.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
"Hate" is such a horrible word when talking about people, so no. I probably have a few new um, strong dislikes.

26. What was the best book you read?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Also CRAZY amounts of excellent Harry/Draco (and HP slash in general), but I'm guessing that wasn't quite what the question was after.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Guppy memory. No, that's not a band. I have very poor memory, and can't tell if a musical discovery was this year or last year.

28. What did you want and get?
To keep my family healthy and close.

29. What did you want and not get?
Nu uh. Not going there.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I love how they redid the Patronuses. And Luna. I adore Luna.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Had first my family and then my friends over for coffee and strawberries.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Sex.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Concept is good. Practice is crap.

34. What kept you sane?
M.e., LJ, and having two London trips to look forward to.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Viggo. Richard Hammond. And recently, Toby Stephens.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Probably something re: healthcare or gay rights. It usually is.

37. Who did you miss?
My BFF. Insane levels of missing going on.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
PersonS, please. The English girls. As if there was any other nominees.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Love your family, even if they're being twelve kinds of pain in the arse. Because you never know how long you have them for.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

We've been circling for time baby
We're coming down to land tonight
The wait is over and now it's easy
Everything is fine

going to hell in a handbasket, me, memes and things
