rosawrites asked for Bones recs, so I scrounged up some of mine. And then I was talking to
our_innocence about Bones, and I figured that since I'd already compiled them, I might as well post them for other people too. So even though it means posting yet again, here they are:
Five Things, by
myinadequacy Five People Bones Has Never Met; Five Things Hodgins Lies About; Five Pop Culture References Everyone Would Be Surprised to Know Bones Actually Understands.
The author has some other lovely stuff too, if you care to go poking about through her tags.
Lines (Make Me Want to Cross Them, by
nekareWhen it happens, like it was supposed to because there has always been a certain degree of inevitability with them, it happens like this.
A gradual coming-together story.
Five Awkward Moments, by
fahyeShe looks exactly like she's going to start lecturing them both on stress fractures, her eyes alight with knowledge and mischief, and Booth clenches his hand around a cushion and thinks: I love this woman more than cars, and life, and pie.
Short, sweet moments of Booth/Brennan.
Seeley Booth's Bones, by
dsudisThey're good, sturdy, solid bones. They would have lasted Booth another forty years easily.
This is technically a death!fic, but it's told long after the fact, and it's more melancholy than tragic, more of an acceptance!story than anything else, and absolutely beautifully written.
Knight in Dented Armor, by
hematitebadgerWorking with Zack was like suddenly having a preadolescent younger brother dropped into his life fully formed and without warning.
Gen story about Booth and Zach; light and cute and fun.
The Hang of Thursdays, by
sophia_helix"Look," said Arthur, "would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?"
As with a lot of Bones fic (and sometimes even Bones canon), I feel that Booth is not given quite the respect that he deserves. Nevertheless, it's Booth and Bones meeting the Doctor, and can it get much cooler than that? No real spoilers for either series.
An Equal Temper, by
carlyinromeCordelia again found herself virtually unhirable. She had a very specific skill set that didn’t exactly fit well into the day world - “I can only type thirty words a minute, but my swordsmanship is really coming along nicely!” - and all her references were dead.
Cordelia/Booth. Post-Angel (though somewhat AU), no Bones spoilers. It gets off to a bit of an expositiony start, but keep reading; each section gets more gorgeous. It's set in the aftermath of Not Fade Away, and the whole thing is sad and sweet and wistful.
