I turn 30 tomorrow, so today is the last day of my 20's. I had been planning on throwing a huge party today rather than on my birthday, but the studied indifference I maintain towards my birthdays bit me in the ass, and I forgot what today was until about 6 o' clock last night. (who just turned 40)
...I have to say that you're handling it better than I did.

I truly wanted to hide under a rock when I turned 30!

But I had friends who dragged my out into the light.

So having been on the other side of this let me tell you what my thirties were like:

-Changed jobs and got laid-off from them.
-Paid loans, accrueddebt and unable to save movey
-Worried about doing more with my life.
-Had my health decline-both physically and mentally.
-Lost a brother.
-Continued the pursuit of love and/or companionship with only a few moments of success.

But I also did in my 30's:
-Cold pitched a meeting to the head of Dreamworks Animation.
-Finished a screenplay.
-Started more screenplays
-Compimented on my writing by my peers.
-Saw my brother get married.
-Partied at the Playboy Mansion
-Had amazing conversations with people famous and not.
-Helped out friends and was helped by them.
-Started improving my health-physical and mental.
-Met some amazing new friends... of which your are one of.

I also played games, watched TV and saw movies... just like I did in my twenties. And will continue to do so.

Make your thirties what you want to, if you want to.
Because its gonna happen anyway.

And as for birthdays, think it of it, at its basest level, as just a REALLY good excuse for having a party with friends.

Because when is THAT ever a bad thing?

Most of all-ENJOY your years.
They'll never come again.
