(no subject)
Beth had a follow-up appointment with her surgeon yesterday. He said that the fusion looks good and that some bone is already forming around the spacer. Her incision line is rather ugly though. With two surgeries going through the same spot, it didn't close up as nice the second time. Hmmm... lower back tattoo to cover it up perhaps?
For dinner last night we finally got to use the comp out at the Injun Casino's Steak House that Beth had arranged before her back went south. We had a comp up to $125 and our bill was $117. They have some nice cuts of meat on the menu but since I never get to go for seafood (Beth & the boy dont like it) I went with the Chilean Sea Bass, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus on the side. The fish was very tasty, but for a $30 entree, I'd like to see a bit bigger piece of meat. Whatever, it wasn't my dime. Well, not directly, but it's all the money she drops out there that gets us the comp so I suppose I am paying for it in the end.
After dinner I met up with a couple from CT that I know through beeradvocate at O'Briens. This is the best part of belonging to that beer community. I have got to meet lots of cool people and no matter where I go I can find someone to have a pint with. Conversely, people coming to my town receive the benefit of my local knowledge and get to have a pint with me (They're sooooo lucky). I'm probably going to meet some other beery friends at O'Briens for lunch who are down from Long Beach for the day.
I'm weighing my options for tonights entertainment. I have to travel to Escondido to take my mom out for dinner for her birthday which was Thursday. After dinner, I have offers to join my buddy Roberts Hold 'em Poker Game, I can go to another co-workers house for the UFC pay-per-view fights, or I can go hang with my buddy Todd and his home brew club at one of the local pubs. Decisions, decisions.
