I'm trying to get back on track with a few tasks I dropped from my brain while dealing with work earlier this year.
I got back to ripping my vinyl collection into the computer. I did 16 albums over the weekend. Many, many more to go.
I am diving back in to the quest to learn PHP and mySQL and use it to drive my webspace. This I can do while ripping the vinvyl. Multi-tasking, yes!
I have other hobbies/interests I need to pick back up as well. My homebrewing has superseded them for the last couple years.
I had spent several years doing some digging into my family history trying to find long lost relatives. I have several dead ends and got a bit frustrated. There are resources online, but it's mainly an analog venture and time consuming.
I bought a 1980 International Scout II a few years back as a project vehicle. I replaced a few things (it needs many more) and drove it on ocassion, but have been working on re-wiring it and have not been behind the wheel in over a couple years. With the price of gas and the fact that the current motor in there gets 8 to 9 mpg, it hasn't been a big worry. I liked tooling around in it during the summers though because the top comes completely off. 1980 was the last year they made these so what few aftermarket parts that are available are always at a premium price. I could probably make more money parting it out than selling it whole, but I think I'm gonna hang on to it. With the boy starting to drive and the fact that he will be getting the father-in-laws truck come October, I made the call to drop the Scout from the insurance and send in the registration as non-op to save a few bucks. Since I'm not driving it, it makes sense. The house we rent has an paved pad along the side of the house that is within the fenced yard designed to park an RV or boat, and that is where it has been sitting.
