Yesterday I got home from a trip to Omaha for my cousin Rebecca's wedding. The ceremony was really nice - my dad officiated as the deacon at mass, and they had a "smudging" ceremony at the beginning which is basically a Native American tradition involving using sage incense to drive out negative energy and restore balance.
