It's already almost 1:30, and I've been up since 9... yet, I've gotten very little done that really NEEDED to be done. I'm just about finished with doing laundry, and keep cleaning various things in my room, but I haven't actually looked at much more costume research today.
So, here's what I've been doing so far over Interterm:
1) Lots of looking at various pictures of clothing. Reading fashion magazines and calling it research. Trying to figure out what designers and styles are appropriate for what situations, US locations, and social classes. Trying to figure out how in the world I'm supposed to know that. Trying to do that without having actually been given where in the US the play is supposed to take place. Thinking that all clothes are starting to look fairly similar. (well, I'm kidding about that last one.)
2) Hanging out with friends. Spending WAY too much time in Ben P.'s room playing his Wii with him and Ben K., or watching the two of them play. Evenings somehow become lots of us just sitting in the room watching someone play Zelda. I am not especially good at the Wii, but it's fun to play with people. We've also watched a couple of movies and such.
3) Trying to clean and organize things. I've actually cleaned my room several times, and gone through a bunch of my drawers. And even now, I'm trying to make myself get back to work, and keep seeing things that need to be cleaned. Maybe I'll vaccuum my room, and then I can work.
Oooh, and I forgot to say that I got a sewing machine with what was left of my holiday money! So now I have a sewing machine here. I haven't used it much since I got back to school, but I'm hoping to get some projects done -- I've got a skirt I made most of over break that still needs a few seams, and a few pairs of pants that need hemming... plus a bunch of random awesome fabric that I've just had for ages that needs me to figure out cool things to do with it.
So, lots that I can be doing. I haven't had a ton of energy for a bit, though. So we'll see what I end up doing in the next couple of weeks.
