Because I've seen two posts that I believe are in response to my thoughts on Seasonal_Spuffy, I feel the need to clarify. No, I'm not indignant that the mods moved the comm to Dreamwidth. There is no indignation ( Read more... )

If you thought I was talking about you, I wasn't. I've seen four or five posts about SS. But I've seen more comment discussion where people weren't pleased. There are mixed feelings out there.

The comments are where I've seen most of the dissenting opinions, and there are mixed feelings out there.

My post did start out as a comment to your post, but it wasn't aimed at you in particular - there were several people on my flist who said that they were not going to participate specifically because the ficathon was moving to DW, and at least one of them was very upset with the the mods. There was a sort of mini-kerfuffle in the comments of the first post where I mentioned the move, which was really my primary motivation for writing the second post.

Thanks for clarifying. I think I saw the kerfuffle on your first post, that was what gave me the impression of dissenting opinion.

I did see your post first, but had no reaction beyond "Huh, never occurred to me that it wasn't a smart move." However, I then saw some other posts, and lots of comments - both for and against - and that's what sparked my own post. It wasn't aimed at you specifically; I was just putting my own thoughts on the situation out there to add to the general discussion.

Yours was actually one of the more moderate reactions I've seen. There are definitely people who are mad at the mods, who are more than indignant, and who are refusing to participate because of the move.

Call me contrary, but I'll tell ya, it's actually making me want to sign up for this round (even though I've never done SS before), just because people are bitching about it. :D
