Watching Buffy With the Roomies
Finding out what it's like to actually sit there and watch Buffy with my charming but ignorant (Edward vs. Jacob is a serious debate for them) roommates. Conversations overehard:
Episode: Reptile Boy (I figure they're not interested in DG's explanations for the adult vs. child theme in the episode, or the origins for the Bollywood watch-in based in Vancouver TV.
"Should we be head banging to this?" (As the theme song plays)
"Where's Angel?" - Jenna
"Angel's a weenie" - me (mumbling from behind my laptop)
[Angel shows up]
"ANGEL!!!" - Jenna and Emily
"Still a weenie . . . and he really lets himself go when he gets his own series" - me
"Pedophiles! Satutory rape!" - Erin [when the college guy hits on Buffy outside the school]
[Angel explains why nothing can happen because Buffy's sixteen and Angel's two-hundred something]
"Pedophile!!" - me (maybe they'd realize the truth?)
"We don't care!" - Emily
Nope. Nothing.
[they cheer when Angel asks Buffy for coffee. I have to settle for an eye roll from the kitchen.]
