Thanks! :-) I'm hoping to get a bit further along in that fic this summer.

And... Little Red Riding Hood and the Big, Bad Wolf! lol Apropos, eh?

I saw that you picked Jack and Rose. Can't wait to see what you do with that!

Good, and you? Glad I've got some real time to write, at last. The end of the semester at the colleges where I teach is always so hectic, what with finals and term papers and all. I'm glad to be out from under and have a stretch of writing time ahead of me!

Hope all is well with you too. I agree, I'm glad it's a challenge. I was going to sign up for the Dramione Duet exchange, but then this came along and I couldn't resist, nor could I see myself writing two fics at the same time. I'm not one of those people who can pull multiple fics out of their creative hat simultaneously. It's tough enough for me to have a longterm WIP going at the same time as a challenge fic! Right now, I'm sort of stuck between two very different approaches to my prompt. Do you have any thoughts on how you plan to approach yours?

Yes, we will! Hard to believe, isn't it?! This one is really, really the final one. After a decade, it is strange to realize this.

I'm very glad that this challenge caught your eye. Lack of motivation is a tough one to overcome. The nature of this fest is a bit different, I think. That's what really appealed to me. I had been wishing for another Reverse Challenge, because I had so much fun with that last summer, and then this one came along. And I LOVE that we have a whole three months to get the writing done. I was absolutely crazed, both for the RC and the recent dmhgficexchange, with only about 6 weeks to get my fic finished ( ... )

Agreed! lol

Thanks for those great pics! They really bring it all home to me, the finality of it all and how much a part of my life all this has been for years, beginning with reading Sorcerer's Stone to my kids when they were eight and twelve a decade ago! Also, seeing the pics of Snape and Fred reminds me of the heartbreak of their deaths in the final part of the book, and what we have in store with DH2.

Oh yeah, Tom is SO hot! He's getting handsomer and more sexy with every passing year!

Are you getting tougher and more critical of your work, and therefore you post less of it these days? For me, as time passes, I feel far more exacting in my standards and so it is more of an effort to produce something I feel really proud of. I do a lot more crafting now. I feel like writing for the fandom has really been an invaluable tutorial in fiction writing.

I feel the way you do about the actors in the films. I think maybe British actors have a different ethic than American ones. There's a sense of teamwork here, and pride in the product, that I doubt would exist if the films were being made in this country ( ... )

I am really proud of them too! They are the same age, roughly, as my own kids, and they've all grown up before our very eyes. It's really pretty remarkable. I remember reading an article in Newsweek published way back when they had just cast Daniel, Emma and Rupert. The writer speculated on whether they would be kept on to play the older versions of their characters as subsequent films were made. I remember hoping fervently that they would, that the cast would stay intact, and really, apart from Dumbledore, it has. And that casting change was forced upon them, it wasn't Richard Harris's choice to leave. So really, the whole endeavor is an amazing feat. Remarkable ( ... )
