Lil J has asthma
Well it looks like lil J has asthma. He was diagnosed with pneumonia this weekend (all of a sudden) and we went in for some testing today, and our pediatrician strongly feels he has asthma. No one in my family has asthma, or allergies. Not me, or my siblings, or my parents, or grandparents, or cousins or even second cousins once removed! I'm so surprised that my little guy has asmtha...and I really don't know much about it.
I've done all the "right" things with him, I breastfeed, we don't smoke, we delayed solids, we drink whole raw milk....I just don't get it. Our pediatrician told me to breastfed him for as long as he will, years even. He said he feels the only reason this asthma did not rear it's ugly head early was because he is nursing. We are hoping he will outgrow it.
Right now we have a nebulizer for him, it's more traumatic for me than him, but he screams and screams. Hopefully he will only need these treatments until the pneumonia is gone. Our pediatrician is a little perplexed, as there is no history of asmtha or allergies, not that we know of anyways.
