random insomnia induced update
i think i must have fallen and hit my head or something....i can't seem to keep it straight that Night is when you sleep and Day is when you're awake and productive. also, i might have somehow slipped into some kind of tear in the fabric of space-time and ended up in a strange parallel universe, because today i went to the gas station and the gas was $3.21 a gallon and no one seemed to remember that back on Earth we never would have stood for that without mass rioting, or at least muttering obscenities while filling up.
Meanwhile, this is Bush's three-part solution:
1. Increasing fuel efficiency standards for cars (good start...)
2. Providing tax-payers with rebates to offset higher fuel costs (also good...hmm...are we sure this is a Republican-backed idea? where is the pandering to corporate agendas? and the pursuit of short-term personal gain over long-term collective benefit?)
3. Opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska for oil exploration, and continuing to provide billions of dollars in tax benefits to oil companies, many of which have prominent Republican politicians on their Boards of Directors (ah, there it is!)
