Warnings: swearing, slightly homophobic comments by a high school student. Also diabetes-inducing amounts of fluff and sappiness.
Summary: It starts with a pair of skates (they have toe picks). It doesn’t end there. A story of two skaters featuring a cat, a gender-specific couch and a lot of ice.

Notes: I wrote a figure skating AU once. It was short, cracky, and relatively plotless. And then I started thinking about it and then suddenly plot happened, and then this fic happened.
If you’re not a fan of figure skating, well, I hope that it won’t deter you from reading. I promise there’s not that many sparkly outfits and glitter (it’s Brad, he wouldn’t put up with this shit, would he?).
If you do watch figure skating, this takes place in a universe where judges give fair marks and also Patrick Chan doesn’t win all things.
I actually thought a lot about what skating programs Brad and Nate would have and some of the descriptions were inspired by real performances. If you’re interested in that, the links to a few videos are in a separate post at the end (there are spoilers, so don’t look at it before reading the fic).
