I'm in one of those awkward stages, as I've said a few times before, where I don't really fit. I don't have a group that I can totally connect with. This is OK, because there've been many times like that in my life, and I generally float from one group to another anyway. But the etiology of it all does provoke a lot of thought.

So homecoming was good. I got to meet up with 3 or 4 of my good friends I never see either because they're at college elsewhere or I don't have time to go back home. I got to see Kristin Cypert, who I hadn't seen in YEARS. =) She's engaged to her boyfriend of 3 years or so. They're getting married in March. They're so cute. She looked really happy. I was glad for her. I got to see Drew and Mel, which were probably the 2 people from my class I wanted to see the most. And I had fun visiting with Dax and Scott. Savannah was there with her baby!! He's soo cute, but it was weird to see somebody I grew up with married with a baby. I got to talk to Mrs. D. :D She's the same spastic-yet-wonderful ball of energy she always was. She called me the closest thing she had to a daughter, and that made me feel really really special. =)

Of course, like always, there were the moments of "Hey, how are you?! I haven't seen you in forever!" and a big hug from people who never paid you any mind until they needed something. That's one thing that happens pretty often that I really don't like about meeting up with people you don't ever see. They get all excited and ask questions and then think 'how are you' is where the conversation ends. I don't know.. that's another one of my soapboxes, but if you really care how someone's doing it seems like you'd want to stick around to listen to the answers rather than giving the expected replies and carrying on.

But overall, it was good. I confirmed that Vanessa from HS is living with her boyfriend somewhere in Abilene and got her cellphone number. She didn't answer when I called the other day.

I worked the Pecan Festival in Clyde this weekend. It wasn't too bad. I think I got overheated, because I was sitting in the sun, my scalp is sunburnt, and I had an awful headache for most of the day. It felt like I got overheated.

The annual Haskell youth retreat was this weekend in Buffalo Gap, so I went over there for church Sunday while Aaron was at work. It was pretty good. Talked to Foster a little bit.. Met his sister Sue. She seemed like she was pretty cool. She was an RN for 23 years, but her lupus eventually made her retire. We talked for a while about what I did and what she did and what I hope to do and just had a good time.

When I got home from all of my busy weekend plans Sunday afternoon, I tried to get ahold of my friends around here. Come to find out, life sucked for Abilenians this weekend! Poor Nat's car got broken into at a friend's house. Vanessa from Day Nursery's car is broke, and the dealers she's talked to keep pressuring her to pick a new one out NOW at a price she can't afford.

My in-laws will be here Thursday... and our house is a wreck. I focused on the kitchen yesterday and got all the dishes done and some towels washed. But I think there's more to be done that I can accomplish. I've got school, too, so I don't really know what to focus on when. I think I should get started on my homework, though. I'll have to wake Aaron up in an hour or so.

Speaking of Aaron, he was a real trooper this weekend. He got 2 hours of sleep Thursday and went to the pep rally and football game with me Friday without complaining. THEN, he turned around and helped all day Saturday with the festival thing I got him dragged into. Anyway, I appreciated him doing what I wanted to do this weekend. It definitely showed a lot of patience that I might not have had in his shoes.

Alright, time to attack the careplans!
