It's like camping in your own home, but not.
So around the time I generally pick up the 'bean before I make dinner, the power goes out. That was probably around 3:30 to 4pm and it's still not back up (11:16). We drove around for a while just to find a restaurant that still had their power just so we could eat dinner (and I had some awesome Tilapia and Tiramisu at Vinny's).
We have a generator going which powers certain rooms, the fridge, and the garage door, but sadly not the water. :( This makes me sad. However, it has certainly been an interesting evening, which I mostly spent chatting with Tanaka who can make me laugh until there are tears in my eyes. Turns out he'll be in town around the 4th so I look forward to that.
I also just brushed my teeth and washed my face in a bucket which is a new experience. The water is what I particularly miss considering I still have a working iPhone, 3G network, and even a hall light. Hopefully someone will turn on the generator for the street's waterpump at some point or, even better, the power will return.
All of this because of high winds.

I think we may be back on the grid! Do they have this trouble in Tron?
