What happened to Decoden?

Before I was into Lolita, I had another J-fashion interest Decoden. I really enjoyed the very cute look of it and dreamed about making my own. Since I was rather picky, and don't like the exstra fees of getting cheap plastic cakes marked as 1 euro(and manufactured for 1 cent), I ended making my items ( Read more... )

I thought decoden was still very much around? Since there are a large amount of people on storenvy and etsy who make cases for different devices and sell them. There's also many people selling cabochons in lots. Realistic bakery cabochons are very easy to find on etsy by just inputting "cake bacochon" and any other foods you'd like on the search bar.

It still seems to be immensely popular. There are loads of custom services and even more ready-made cases, and also loads and loads of suppliers for materials (cabochan, whip, molds, bling, etc.)

There are quite a few Youtube channels dedicated to clay sweets as well if you are interested in making your own!

Decoden is certainly still very much around and done! However I do feel that I have seen less of it in the lolita community, though perhaps that's also because of the lowering popularity of decora and OTT sweet and the rise of more classic, toned-down styles. In the age of OTT sweet doing decoden on random things seemed more common, maybe for the outrageous and over the top look of it. Just like how a lot of people would do decora. Maybe we'll see more of it again in the lolita community should super OTT pastel sweet make a comeback!

I agrre on the rise of Classic styles, but not the toned down version of it. I am more into blend into curtains-prints and solids, but I have sometimes hard time finding it. But maybe decoden be back in more adult version of silver ware, random minature furniture, bread and everyday dishes sticked on the phone? Or a old leather trunket covered with silikone frosting and pink real size plasticmacarons and cakes.

ohmygosh now I want a cell phone with tiny bread rolls and plates on the back...and I'm not even a classic lolita. That would be so cute! I kind of want to see people kawaii-fy their things with classical elements. Like something out of a victorian nightmare, only cuter. Imagine silverware and tiny furniture stuck to shoes like these kawaii monstrosities. Wallets and keychains with Beethoven's face smeared all over them. JetJ's butt trumpet print on a lanyard. Oh, the possibilities!

Or some transparent soles on pair of RHs, with a minature victorian lliving room in it. Or pair shoes decorated to look like a occhard. Or decorating with seashells, like this mermaid dollhouse
