Atelier Dormir: a very positive review

Aug 22, 2014 14:28

A couple of months ago I've decided to order a pair of bespoke bloomers from Atelier Dormir. I had seen their wonderful underskirts and bloomers some time ago at Enchanted and regretted not buying some ever since. I am so impressed with the quality that I've decided to write a little review of my experience. I hope you'll find this useful if you are thinking of buy from them.

There are different ways you can buy from Atelier Dormir. You can message them directly on Facebook or simply buy from their Etsy shop.

I've decided to message them directly on Facebook. Here is a quick summary on how it went.

Communication 5/5

I messaged them on the 30th of June and got a prompt reply the same day. They were extremely courteous and had suggestions on what lace to use which I loved. I was given a quote and an estimate for delivery time. The seamstress and business owner Laelette is a delight to talk to. She was very helpful and even told me interesting trivia on the lace she would use. I thought this shows dedication and love for what she does, both signs of a good business ethic.

Shipping 5/5

The bloomers where shipped on time and arrived quickly. She even contacted me before hand to make sure I'll be available to sign for the parcel which was brilliant since I was on holiday at the time. We agreed on waiting until I was back. I was very impressed on how thoughtful she had been, once again great customer service.

Packaging 5/5

The package was beautiful in itself. The envelope was tick and waterproof, and the bloomers were folded neatly so they weren't creased.

The lovely package they came in. Look at that sticker, isn't it adorable?

Accuracy of item description 5/5

What can I say the bloomers are perfect. The quality of the materials is incredibly high. The cotton and lace are soft to the touch making the bloomers very comfy when on. As I was asked to provide my measurements I was a little nervous about the fit. I know that with handmade garments sometimes things can go a bit wrong and you end up with something that doesn't quite fit you well. I'm happy to say this was not the case. The fit is great, she is a very skillful seamstress.

Overall experience 5/5

I highly recommend this shop, you won't be disappointed. I already have my eyes on a pair of black and gold bloomers and can't wait to order them. The experience was great from start to finish, everything went well and communication was smooth. I would like to add that at the time Laelette had a really bad injury that resulted in her having surgery. I was kept informed throughout so the process was not affected at all. I was amazed at her professionalism and commitment [more info on her blog:

I would like to leave you with some pictures of the lovely bloomers. Thanks for reading!
