My sister has a pink rayon corset interlined with canvas from 2005. I've worn it on many occasions, as it has white stitching, it's got a nice high contrast affect when I wear it dancing. Though it was a goth club and I was Doing It Wrong I have no regrets.
However, I've discoverd that abuse of the first order as discoverd by late night dancing has led to the need for washing. This comes on the heels of also realising that Pendaflex hanging file folder brackets are Bad Boning. I have since removed all of them and have on hand enough heavy duty cable ties on hand to see to the change. The water wasn't surprisingly dingy. I washed it twice with detergent and rinsed it twice in cold water. Wrung it in a towel and now await the inevitably slow drip drying process.
My Red Satin fabric is dismal in size. 82" isn't as much as it looks like on the shelf appparently. I made a mockup in a khaki denim and it turns out, just not as lavish or as lush as the fabric demands. I have one more thought, for a circle skirt kirtle instead to eliminate all gathers along the top. I have annother section of the denim for this trial before I decide what else to do about the Red.
