It's been a long time...
I have been so busy with being an AmeriCorp VISTA and trying to live up to the expectations, that I really haven't had the inclination to communicate much.
The girl child turned 18 and is still trying to figure out what that means for her life. Her father continues to disappoint her.
The boy child turns 13 in a couple of weeks and is also having a few growing pains of his own. He is developing more of a temper as those hormones start running through his body. We're still talking though, so hopefully, we'll get through it together.
Christmas was pretty awesome. Santa got the kids just the right things to augment what I was able to do on my own. Of course, everyone got jammies, underwear and socks... but I managed a Wii for the boy and a bike for the girl... there was quite a price difference there so I have also supplemented the girl's goodies with things like phone cards and a New Years Eve party for her friends. Teenagers eat so much!
Tomorrow marks a return to school for the kids and a normal work schedule for me. I am looking forward to the return to "normalcy".
