We all went out to the Chinese buffet for dinner and then home for the birthday song and apple pie and coconut cream pie. I guess we are now making up new family traditions for our birthdays. It used to be when we had the old folks and brother John next door that we ordered Chinese take out for dinner and sang the birthday song in John's room, all gathered around his bed. The new thing seems to be eating at the Chinese buffet and then coming here for the after party. I miss the old days and the old people but I feel like they are with us here in spirit too.
