Today's Paint and Sip picture. A Highland cow. The words say: Summer's End.
I had a good lunch with Jan before the event. We ate at Benjamin's. Then on the way to the mall we stopped at Tractor Supply and I got scratch feed for the chickens. There aren't very many stores still open in the mall anymore. Bath and Body Works is one of the few. Jan went shopping and I followed her around sniffing things before the class started.
I pretty much like how the painting turned out though certain parts bother me. The horns aren't right and some other parts too, but - oh well. Chloe's picture was more cheerful than mine. The cow in hers was wearing a yellow and orange striped scarf and looked festive. I had already painted the overcast, blue and steaky background for the picture before we went so I wanted to use that.
I have a cleaning and organizing job that I DREAD. First I have the hall closet - hasn't been touched in 24 years. When that is clean and organized and has more space in it then I plan to put some of my stuff (puzzles especially) from Hazel's old room in it and consolidate more of her stuff. That will hopefully free up enough space to replace the twin bed in that room with a full size bed that Chloe is giving us. I want to get all this done before the 15th when Johnny and Alison are coming for a visit. I hate doing stuff like this. Going through old stuff and trying to figure out what will stay and what will go - I hate it. I need to get going with some positive self talk. Saying over and over again how much I hate it isn't working. Plenty of people have given me advice and I can listen to that replay in my head if I want. I'm thinking now I should just take EVERYTHING out and clean the space well and then maybe I will figure out what will go back in. Baby steps.
