Some pictures from a couple days ago - a walk to the lake:

Andy silhouetted.

I didn't used to think much of Curly Dock but now it's one of my favorite wildflowers - I love the rich dark brown when it matures.

Dave discovered a path down to this part of the lake. We always figured it was too soft to walk here but it isn't. Now it has become a regular part of every walk to the lake.

Blue Vervain is busy blooming now.

Using pieces from the cobalt blue and the aqua blue glass bins for this one. I have a metallic olive green paint that I think will look nice later painted on the grout.

I'll need to work on Sunday dinner later today but I'm free till about 3 pm. Think I'll head over to the mosaic shed for a while. After I took the above picture yesterday I got a lot more filled in and I might get this tray done today. I'm making lentil soup with added Swiss chard for dinner. I never (knowingly) ate chard till a few days ago. Chloe's boyfriend Jimmy gave Dave some plants this year. I'm really liking chard! I sauté slices of the stems first with some garlic like you would with celery. Then at the end add the chopped leafy parts with some sweet and sour dressing so it wilts. I think it'll be a good addition to the lentil soup. I see there are other fancier recipes where you can bake it but I don't want to use the oven and heat up the house.
