Little Comfort wasn't just sitting in the nest box this afternoon to stay out of the weather. She was laying an egg. I found a white egg like this on Friday but that one's shell was very weak and it had broken in the nest. Seems like she's getting warmed up to lay some eggs this year, maybe. Or these might be her only 2 eggs. It'll be interesting to see. I liked how dimple textured the egg was. Like some kind of animal skin.
I think it looks better glued into my book. Planning to glue those other art-a-day oil paintings into the book too once they finally dry. This is why I want to try painting with acrylic - it dries so much faster. I'd like to learn how to use acrylic paints in the style I was using for that goldfinch picture. Thick and opaque with some brush strokes showing. Which is not my usual way of painting. That's the plan anyway.
