Today's art-a-day. Oil paints just seem weird to me. I am so used to either something being "wet" (like wet into wet watercolor), or "dry" (the paint staying true to itself when it's painted over another color). I got this paint set back in 2012 and used it about 5 times and then I must have decided I didn't like oil painting much. I'm not so sure I like it now either. But I'm going to keep trying for a while longer. Maybe I'll get a better handle on it. There is something nicely flowing and sensual about it.
Went back to bed this morning after I did chores. Had interesting dreams that I can't remember now. Fiddled around with the current puzzle I'm doing, practiced piano (Peaceful Easy Feeling), took a shower, cut my bangs (I HATE my hair now - back to wearing a headscarf), went with Dave to town, got lab work done for my upcoming doctor visit, shopped at Walmart with Dave (got a set of cheap artist's acrylic paints - maybe I'll like that better than oils), came home, took the garbage out, walked the dogs to the creek and lake, painted the above picture, ate a dinner that Dave made (baked butternut squash drizzled with maple syrup, asparagus and steamed sweet onion) and now here I am writing in my room...
I took a few pictures this afternoon with the full spectrum camera and the IR Chrome filter. That's the filter where the green chlorophyll parts of plants are red with infrared light but the flowers and most other things in the picture are their normal color.
Front door.
Some of my daffodils are finally blooming.
