Today was Rainy's haircut day. She's had two exciting days in a row. Yesterday we took both dogs to visit Jimmy's house where there are two dogs. I was glad Andy behaved well and all four dogs got along. Though the only dogs that seemed interested in each other were Andy and a dog called Snow. She was very "floaty" with long white hair that blew in the breeze as she moved, especially her tail. She was quite the graceful and beautiful thing to watch. When she and Andy were playing together they were doing all kinds of fabulous leaping dance moves with each other. The other dog was named Dog. 14 years old. A little overweight but he still liked to waddle/walk outdoors and explore everything by himself. He had no interest in Andy. The only thing I saw him do towards either of our dogs was a play bite on Andy's back. Dog had enough energy to stand on his hind legs and get on Andy's back - get a fold of Andy's skin in his mouth. Just a warning - I don't want to play and I don't want bumped into. Rainy and he just sniffed each other's noses - that was enough to tell each other there would be no problems.
It was a day with cold wind and some snow - it's redeeming quality was the sun that came out a lot between the fast moving clouds. At the end of Jimmy's property there was an old railroad grade that followed the creek bed. We walked on that till the creek curved and we came to a place that once had a bridge over it. The bridge was gone. It made me so nervous to see Rainy standing on the edge of the bridge just sniffing the air and not paying attention to anything else, with Andy and Snow frequently breaking out into roughhouse play behind her. Wonder if they knocked Rainy off the bridge into the high fast moving creek water? As we were leaving I joked with Dave - told him he'd have to jump in to save her if that happened. He said, no way, you'd have to get her. So I said, okay, but you'd still have to jump in to save me so why not just go in in the beginning?

I was trying to get a picture of Rainy with her new haircut just now but she was busy trying to chew on a rawhide chew. All I could get were pictures of her with her mouth in weird contortions. This seemed the best.
