Slept till 5:30 when the alarm went off. Though I had been sleeping on the couch since 2 am which isn't the best sleep in my opinion. Got a lot done yesterday with throwing out about 50 pounds of outdated food. That's what I like about cleaning out food (unlike cleaning out junk in the basement) - you just have to find the date on the bag or can and then your decision is made for you. With stuff in the basement I can't figure it out. Though finding the date on some food packages is like a search puzzle you have to solve. They have disguised the date very well. It can take some time to find it. Some foods I had to set aside till later when I had time to sit down and really study them in better light. But they all had dates! To clean off the counters yesterday I had to clean out the cupboards so I'd have a place to put the stuff from the counters. So that's where this ton of outdated foods came from. Dave and I vowed together: no more food hoarding. Let's use up the food that is here now.
This morning is more decluttering and cooking. And vacuuming. My mother-in-law (a wonderful person, but like me she had more interesting things to do than clean) used to say, "if your house is a mess and you want it cleaned just invite people over". That seems to be what works for me. I need outside impetus.
Bonus Andy pic. Jumping to catch a ball in the lower yard recently.
