It was very weird this morning. I woke up to the smell of something like a caramel sweet roll cooking. I thought who is up at this hour (5:30) ? and what did they find to cook that smells like that. The smell was very strong. I laid in bed listening and eventually the smell went away. I got up and there was no sign of anyone in the kitchen. So I did the dishes from yesterday and here I am at writing time...
Here's a picture that Johnny took last evening while the guys were fishing up at Lake Erie. His phone can even get the stars! Looks like Orion there on the right. Maybe I need a new phone. They didn't get a single fish to bring home.
Alison took this picture of Johnny yesterday when we were down at the lake that I just happened to be in. I liked it.
When Alison and I were getting the metal working equipment ready yesterday I noticed that the acid level in the pickle pot was way down and I added more water. Then we saw that big crystals had formed in there. This was the larger one. Kinda neat.
Yesterday evening Alison and I went into town and ate at Benjamin's. I got eggplant parmesan but it just wasn't as good as I thought it should be so I ate only the angel hair spaghetti from underneath and the cheese and sauce from on top. Actually eating only that it made it be more the size of a normal meal (they give big servings) so I didn't overeat and that was good.
Alison brought some THC candy that a friend had given her. We divided one up and ate it yesterday morning before our walk to the lake. Mainly what I noticed is that I seemed much more talkative than usual - just saying inane things and singing little made up songs. It was hard to pay attention to what others were saying and I felt rude. But then I noticed other people (people who hadn't eaten any) were also not really paying attention to what others were saying either. It's been a long time since I've been high. I quit smoking pot long ago because if I was in a group I'd start to be paranoid - kind of like what I was like yesterday - studying other people and comparing myself to them. It might be interesting to do an edible alone and not have that distraction. I might get more out of it.
Snow on the ground this morning and more falling now.
Later - it seems that my baked goods dream must have manifested something. Michael made us blueberry scones for breakfast - there's that smell!
