We were in Walmart last night (getting seat covers for Dave's new truck) and on the spur of the moment I decided to get my vaccines: covid, flu and pneumonia. Boy, do my arms hurt today. Though I think that is the only bad effect I got. I slept well and got up at a normal (for me) time this morning - 5:30.
I came away from my appointment with the ophthalmologist yesterday a little discouraged. Found out I have 2 other conditions besides cataracts. Fuchs' dystrophy and Epithelial basement membrane dystrophy (EBMD). Both are mild at this point and my main hope is that I can make it to the finish line without them affecting my eyesight too badly. The cataract surgeries are scheduled for early and mid December.
Terrible that my primary news is about my body and health. Blaa. I don't feel like I'm 69 years old. I just feel like a 20 year old with a disappointingly inordinate amount of aches and pains.
This pink cloth was my least favorite of all that I purchased for this purpose so I used it first for the roller printing with acrylic paints. I think this will work to fancy it up for using in locker hooking. I'm going to cut it up later today and see how it actually does being pulled though the locker mesh. Will acrylic paint hold up, and will it feel okay in the finished piece? If so I will go into major painting mode. I have about 10 different colors of cloth I want to improve. I need to keep cleaning up this basement work space. I'd eventually like to clear it of all junk so it can be "open". Dave has ice fishing equipment that he wants to get to that is deeply buried in the mess and he needs to access that before January.
Two birthdays today. Sister Kathy
earthmother45 and son Johnny. Coincidentally they both share the same date for their anniversaries in September too.
Today is women's group. Hoping that Char comes today so I can give her the lap robe I made for her. We seem to be missing each other week after week. Today is also my first music lesson in my music teacher's new studio. It's in the lower level of the same building that as little kids we went to the dentist. Our dentist, Doctor Spencer was on the 4th floor and we went up in a tiny little elevator that had a gate which pulled across the door before the door shut. Later when I was a teenager and going to the dentist by myself I chose to not use the elevator and went up the back stairs, which were small, made from a black stone that was worn down in the middle of each step and very twisty. That building still turns up in my dreams of Franklin sometimes. I visited the building last week just to check it out and found that there is a bakery in the building now beside the music lesson room. The hallway smelled delicious. I'm going to eventually check out that elevator and those steps for sure and see what's what now. When I was a kid the building seemed dingy. Now it's remodeled and looks very nice.
